Off sick
by Barbara Jara - Thursday, 26 August 2010, 02:55 PM

Hello everyone,

Just a quick message for those of you that attend the Thursday evening class, I won't be in tonight.

The Flash tutorials that I went through last night are up under the Multimedia subject.

I've updated the first lot of HTML resources for those that are starting HTML. I'll be updating all of the documents (but it's a big job, so bear with me).

Those that are doing the Accessibility Unit - you can go on with Project 1 (the Green Garden Centre site). Remember the key is to get it to meet Priority1 checkpoints without compromising design. Document how much time you spend researching, redesigning/rebuilding and testing.

Those that are working on javascript - upload the code you are having difficulty with so that we can see different approaches to the solutions. Make sure you test your code!

You all have plenty to work on - just keep going with the coursework and use the forums to share your answers to activities/ask for help/etc.
I'll be browsing the forums and updating resources and helping a couple of off-campus students. You all have my email address if you need help with something urgently.

That's all for now,
~ Barb.

Computer Viruses
by Barbara Jara - Thursday, 30 July 2009, 10:06 PM

I highly recommend that you all scan your flash drives and computers for viruses (if you do not already do so regularly).
There have been several incidents of corrupt files and malicious spyware and a virus that has spread through the network.
Keep in mind that the TAFE computers are on a network open to several hundred people and it's important that we all scan our computers and files regularly.
If anyone does not have a virus scanner there are several free options online. Let me know if you need help finding one.
Cheers,
~ Barb.

Welcome to the Online Learning Hub
by Barbara Jara - Saturday, 18 July 2009, 10:42 AM

Semester 2 begins on 20th July.
Welcome to all new and continuuing students in both the full-time and flexi group.
This week it is important that you familiarise yourself with the learning hub, as well as your timetable, the course requirements and assessment requirements of each subject.
Students that will be seeking RPL/RCC for any units must see the appropriate teacher in the first week.
Make sure you purchase the necessary equipment for each subject by the end of the week, including visual diaries, flash drive/external HDDs and if you are enrolled in the Digital Imaging subjects you will need access to a digital camera.
All the best for Semester 2.
Contact me by email if you have any queries or concerns.
~ Barb.
